Wolters Kluwer: BSN Curriculum
Due to a nationwide demand for nurses with a bachelor’s level education, Wolters-Kluwer Health (WKH) identified the need for an innovative RN to BSN curriculum that could be used for distance learning or in a hybrid classroom environment. RN students often need the flexibility to earn their degrees while working full or part-time, making online or hybrid learning preferable.
Monarch Media’s team collaborated with WKH editorial and subject matter experts to provide the learning design strategy, instructional design, curriculum authoring, graphic design, and engineering needed to build a program spanning eight courses.
Each course is instructionally designed to accelerate the student’s online learning experience. Features include storytelling, modeling, gamification, spaced-learning, case-based, and problem-based scenarios, and social learning. Following the popular “flipped classroom” model, the courses were designed for self-directed learning that challenges students with new problems to solve, new issues to debate, and skills to practice and hone, such as communication, presenting, and writing skills.
