Wisconsin Dept. of Workforce Development
Apprenticeship Orientation Program
Monarch Media worked with the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development to re-envision their apprenticeship orientation program. The design for their existing program had become dated, and feedback from their users indicated that changes needed to be made to the user experience and information architecture for the course to feel relevant to the core users.
Our instructional designers minimalized the cost for the client by repurposing much of the content that had already been established, while simultaneously increasing the effectiveness of the content through changes to the design and user interaction within the learning modules. We took advantage of the opportunity to re-envision the course and lessons to make the course an ongoing resource for the user as well as a thorough orientation. We tailored content to specific trades where applicable so that users were only learning topics relevant to them. We provided the users with an open navigation so that they could explore and reference content when it was relevant to them, and developed the lessons using Articulate Storyline so that users could keep track of their progress as they explored the content.
