Texas Beef Council: The Raw Truth About Beef
A customized WordPress solution for a non-profit organization
Monarch Media developed an immersive and innovative video-based learning experience for the Texas Beef Council (TBC) that automatically generates certificates based on the user’s industry type and the continuing education units they earn.
TBC asked Monarch Media to create an engaging online experience so that culinary and health professionals could go behind the scenes to learn about each stage in the beef lifecycle. They wanted a 360 video-based experience that featured content on three industry types: Culinary, Dietetics, and Education. A priority for TBC was built-in analytics to track user activity like video views and completions, plus details about what the user learned from watching the videos. Finally, they needed a solution that could track a user’s completion of activities toward Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits and automatically generate certificates for users based on the credits that they earned.
Since the Texas Beef Council’s requirements did not directly suit an LMS solution like Moodle, or a CMS like WordPress, Monarch Media designed an innovative, one-of-a-kind solution. We set up a WordPress site – and customized the course setup – so that the solution functions like an LMS. During the registration process, users are filtered based on their industry and directed to a “My Journey” feature which acts as their course hub. Monarch Media incorporated a pre-test that users must take before they access the main course content, as well as a post-test, so that TBC can evaluate what the users learn from the course. To track whether users experience the videos completely, we incorporated course video content tracking. The embedded sophisticated 360 videos provide a real-time experience for users. Once they receive enough CEU credits, the system automatically provides users with a course completion certificate.
