SkillsCommons: Nurse Assistant Lesson
Monarch Media created a lesson on ‘Quality Care and Unit Conversions’ for nurse assistants. The original material, in a Word document, sourced from the SkillsCommons’ library was created by the Massachusetts Bay Community College. This document contained real-world examples and exercises for practice, along with some recommended videos and activities.
For the makeover, Monarch’s instructional designers created context and remediation to allow students to learn and complete the lesson independently. Interactive exercises, embedded video and online activities all contribute to an engaging learner experience, reinforcing skills to be applied in the workplace. Based on principles of adult learning, this lesson is built to be self-directed, self-paced and exploratory. You can view the recording of a webinar that Monarch participated in, to demonstrate this lesson makeover to SkillsCommons and TAACCT grantees or review the two-minute video walk-through here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT0dn6Cmepk
