NIH: Innovative Research Grant for Medical Support App
The Monarch UX team worked side-by-side with medical professionals to develop the IBS Tracker app prototype. IBS Tracker helps people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) monitor their diet, medications, and symptoms, as well as set goals. In addition, IBS Tracker provides data analytics to help patients better manage their disease.
We applied a user-centered design (UCD) approach, including iterative empirical usability testing and subsequent revisions. The alpha phase included requirements analysis, software design, and development of a partially functional application.
The reports that included data visualization, allowing patients to intuitively understand a complex matrix of data, were an especially innovative aspect of this project.
