Avac: Engage Platform
A custom WordPress community engagement platform for a global nonprofit
Monarch Media updated the UI/UX of Avac’s WordPress learning management system (LMS) to increase meaningful connections and community participation across their global organization.
Avac approached Monarch Media with the goal of converting their LMS platform into a full engagement platform for their global community. They needed an improved platform to be a central, high functioning tool to help their network mobilize the ethical and global delivery of HIV prevention tools. Avac wanted their new Engage platform to be a hub of communication where their many different groups could manage membership and content independently, while also allowing the organization to share communication and resources – as well as conduct training sessions – across the platform.
Monarch Media led the development of the new platform by first engaging the key stakeholders in a user-centric UI/UX discovery and definition process to identify their needs. We used our findings from the discovery to design a new site architecture that includes LearnDash WordPress LMS – along with integrated chat and webinar functionality – using a custom Red5Pro implementation. Features include courses, forums, and calendar functionality. The platform also now includes custom Groups logic that allows for multiple tiers of registration and role-based user access, customizable user dashboards with individualized resource libraries, and administration through a custom front-end admin interface. For the launch of the new platform, Monarch Media produced multiple promotional videos to introduce the features and functionality, and to support a smooth transition across AVAC’s global network.
